Partners In Health (PIH)
is a non-profit health care organization that works to bring modern medical care to poor communities in nine countries around
the world. The work of PIH has three goals: to care for their patients, to alleviate the root causes of disease in their communities,
and to share lessons learned around the world. It's model is simple: clinical and community barriers to care are removed as
diagnosis and treatment are declared a public good and made available free of charge to patients living in poverty.
Based
in Boston, Massachusetts, PIH employs more than 11,000 people worldwide, including doctors, nurses and community health workers.
The vast majority of PIH staff are local nationals based in the communities they serve. PIH works in Haiti, Rawanda, Peru,
Russia, Malawi, USA, and Lesotho.
